Teletherapy is available for those in California and Texas. Teletherapy can be a very useful alternative to traditional in office therapy. I began offering teletherapy during the COVID-19 pandemic and have been pleased with the experience of teletherapy. You can receive online counseling in the comfort of your home.
Telehealth Tips:
- First register with me as a new client by calling or using the secure contact form. See contact info. We will schedule a day and time for your visit. You will then receive a link to the client portal to complete the registration process including intake forms and you will receive a link for the telehealth platform (Vsee clinic) via email or text.
- Login to VSee clinic a few minutes before your scheduled appointment time and wait in the "virtual waiting room". I will be automatically notified that you are waiting and will join you as soon as I am able. I normally run on time. Sessions normally begin and end promptly to stay on schedule.
- Please remember to check the time zone in your appointment reminders.
- For best connection, please close other programs running on your device.
- Telehealth platforms perform best on a computer but will work on a mobile device as well. If you use my VSee clinic link from a mobile device there will be a small window that will pop up on the top of your screen and prompt you to use the app. Please do so. You may experience the best sound quality if you use headphones or ear buds.
- Please make sure that you have a quiet and private space for your session where you won't be disturbed and where others who aren't participating in the session cannot see or hear or be seen or heard. Babies are ok.
- There is an expectation of privacy. Please do not record the sessions. I do not record the sessions.
- The largest commercial payers do cover telemedicine. However, whether they will reimburse for a telemedicine service is policy-dependent, meaning one patient might be covered under their policy and another may not if their policy excludes telemedicine for mental health. Please contact your insurance company and to see if telehealth with me will be covered. See Fees/Insurance page for more information.
